CCTV - The Mailman friendly Guard Dog!

Before I start, I'd like to inform you that I am not very good at this sort of thing at all, and retail is generally not my strong point (neither selling or buying!).

One of the primary areas that I am concerned about in my business is security - Mainly to do with CCTV DVR Systems.
Now of course everyone worries about keeping their business and home safe, but about 3 months after moving into our office building we were broken into (All those shiney new computers, I understand the motivation there!).

Is it more effective to buy the best available Cameras, the best DVR and then a good enough monitor all seperate, to ensure you get the best for each piece? Or are the set systems viable too?
So with that in mind, I wanted a little advice.

I have been looking around and found a few place I have considered:

http://www.securitydirect.co.uk
http://www.greensideonline.com
http://www.proviewx.com

I'm not so worried about the sites or the businesses themselves, I am more interesed in getting some better price comparison.
I would also like to know if these [1] [2] [3] are the most effective Systems.

My next thought is to do with Warning Signs.

Now a few friends of mine who work in offices over London have said that the signs are not important; as it gives a potentional robber the "heads-up" more than it prevents anything.
However, I thought they would be a good idea. If I was a criminal and saw signs plus a few cameras dotted here and there I'd sure think twice!

I already have a CCTV System so my plan is mainly an upgrade with a few more cameras (two cameras doesn't cover it unfortunately) and a better DVR unless there is an all-singing all-dancing set on one of these three sites.
Any input would be great.

Thanks

Tom
